Present Moment

A Letter to The Present Moment:

Dear Present Moment,

I want to thank you for always being here for me.

I can not thank you enough.

All through my life – even when I did not know – even when I was asleep, and unaware of you – due to being intoxicated, drunk, ignorant, worried or indulged in my miseries – You were always there.

Always by my side, always next to me.

Even when I did not see you, did not hear you, did not smell nor taste you.

Even when I was engrossed in mental projections and intellectualisations about you.

You remained untterly and simply present.

You remained present and available to me – during the mornings, in the rays of sun that shone through my window when I woke up. You remained present in the light of the sun. In the breeze of air, in the sounds of birds, bees and in the sound of traffic – that I heard countless times.

You were present in the taste of every drink and food that I ever ingested. In every fragrance that I ever smelt. I every sight that passed through my eyes.

Dearest Present Moment:

My life could not have existed without you. My death can not exist without you either. I know that You alone will be present at and after my death – just as you have been present since and before my birth.

You have been present not only with me – but with everything and everyone and everywhere. You alone have been present – always full – unchanging and complete.

All things have been becoming and unbecoming while You alone stood still and encompassed it all.

You alone exist as all.

You alone live as all.

How can I love you when your love for me is so much and infinitely greater. You don’t only love me but love all so graciously, so closely, intimately and unconditionally.

Thank You.
